Time Spent Learning plugin

Measure time actually spent learning.

The Time Spent Learning plugin gives Zoola a defensible record of how long each learner engaged with a course, not only whether they opened it.

The problem

Logged in is not the same as learning.

Most LMS reports count time from first click to last. A course left open in a tab while someone takes a call or goes to lunch still counts.

For internal metrics that distorts the picture. For training with a required seat time, it is weak evidence.

How it works

Active time, with presence verification.

The plugin tracks active engagement rather than session length. When there is no activity, it can pause the timer until the learner confirms they are still there through an alert window.

The results appear in Zoola’s Time Spent dashboards and reports, next to completions, courses and learners.

Use it for

Better decisions beyond the audit.

Accurate time on task also makes engagement comparisons fair across teams, and gives managers a concrete starting point for a coaching conversation.
